Aberdeen PD Blotter: DWI Arrest, Burglary

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 283 calls for service between July 4 and July 10, 2012, including seven suspicious persons/vehicles; 13 alarms; 24 first aid calls; six motor vehicle crashes; three burglaries; five thefts; eight domestic violence incidents, four noise complaints; and 91 motor vehicle stops, according to Chief of Police John Powers.  Officers also issued 59 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests July 4, 2012 through July 10, 2012:

• On July 4 a 22-year-old Aberdeen man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in connection with an incident that took place on Ivyhill Drive. P.O. Louis Nanna was the arresting officer.

• Michael L. Davis, 42, Matawan, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to keep right, and unsafe lane change following a motor vehicle stop on July 4 at approximately 9:40 PM on Lower Main St. Special Officer Michael Scarpa was the arresting officer.

• On July 5 P.O. Anthony Marone arrested a 32-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.

• On July 9 Sgt. Hank Chevalier arrested a 56-year-old Freehold man for simple assault and harassment.

• P.O. Frank Maisano arrested a 35-year-old Cliffwood Ave. woman for theft on July 9.

• A 31- year-old New Brunswick woman was arrested for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on July 10. P.O. Darryl Richardson was the arresting officer.

• On July 10 P.O. Darryl Richardson arrested a 22-year-old Paterson man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.

• A 19-year-old township man was arrested for disorderly conduct by P.O. Frank Maisano at the 7-11 store, Highway 34, on July 10.

Other police activity during that period:

• On July 4 a resident of Woodbine Drive reported receiving harassing text messages. P.O. Anthony Marone took the report.

• Several truck tires were reported punctured sometime between July 3 and July 5 at a landscaping business on Highway 34.  The damage was estimated in excess of $8,000. P.O. Michael Lasko conducted the initial investigation.

• On July 5 a resident of Inwood Place reported a man came to her door purporting to be a pool service worker. He was driving an older model Toyota pickup with a cab. P.O. Michael Lasko took the report.

• Sometime between July 5 and July 7 someone attempted to enter a residence on West Prospect Ave. by breaking a basement window. P.O. Gus Grivas responded.

• On July 7 an Avondale Lane resident reported the theft of a diamond ring valued at $9,000. P.O. John Zeller investigated.

• On July 7 at 3:45 a.m. P.O. John Zeller discovered damaged fencing at the Lloyd Road School.

• P.O. Anthony Valentino responded to a report of an assault and terroristic threats at a Myrtle St. residence on July 8.

• On July 9 a South Atlantic Ave. resident reported harassing e-mails and phone messages.  P.O. Frank Maisano investigated.

• On July 10 at approximately 3:00 a.m. officers , Lower Main St. Upon arrival they found the glass door broken. A quantity of cash and cigars were taken.  

• The Butler Masonic Temple, County Road, was reported burglarized on July 10. A quantity of cash was taken. P.O. Gus Grivas responded.

• On July 10 P.O. Matthew Lloyd investigated a report of individuals riding dirt bikes and quads without permission on property located on Wilson Ave.  

• P.O. Frank Maisano investigated the theft of a bicycle from the Taco Bell store, Highway 34, on July 10.
