Aberdeen Township Police activity between May 16 and May 22

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 330 calls for service between May 16 and May 22, 2012, including nine suspicious persons/vehicles; 17 alarms; nine first aid calls; 13 motor vehicle crashes; four burglaries, three thefts; seven disorderly persons; three domestic violence incidents; five noise complaints; and 124 motor vehicle stops, according to Chief John Powers. Officers also issued 102 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests May 16, 2012 through May 22, 2012:

  • On May 16 Sgt. Henry Chevalier arrested a 48-year-old Morganville man for harassment that occurred on Andover Lane on May 12.
  • P.O. Roger Peter arrested a 51-year-old Linden woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on May 17.
  • On May 17 P.O. John Young arrested a 23-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Freehold Borough municipal court.
  • On May 17 P.O. Michael Lasko arrested a 20-year-old Aberdeen man for criminal mischief and harassment following an incident on Milton Ave. that took place May 16.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko arrested a 27-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Old Bridge municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Cliffwood Ave. on May 18.
  • On May 18 Sgt. Henry Chevalier charged Christian C. Mead, 22, Milton Ave. Aberdeen, with burglary and theft of cash from a vehicle on West Prospect Ave. on May 11.
  • On May 20 P.O. Brian Alberti arrested a 50-year-old Atlantic City man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • A 13-year-old juvenile was taken into custody for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana on May 22 by P.O. Martin Walsh.

  • A Florida man was charged with careless driving and failure to report an accident after a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of the township municipal building on May 16.  P.O. Michael Plant investigated.
  • On May 16 P.O. Matthew McDow responded to a report of harassment at Strathmore Gardens, South Atlantic Ave. on May 16.
  • On May 17 a resident of Old Bridge reported she was assaulted at the Blue Rock Café, Amboy Ave.  P.O. Louis Nanna took the report.
  • On May 17 P.O. Louis Nanna responded to a report of trespassing on Shore Concourse.
  • A resident of North Circle reported that someone entered her garage, did damage to one vehicle, and stole a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on May 18.  The vehicle was recovered on Staten Island.  P.O. Matthew McDow conducted the initial investigation and Sgt. Henry Chevalier is continuing the investigation.
  • P.O. Louis Nanna responded to a report of suspicious activity on Greenwood Ave. on May 18.
  • A manhole cover valued at approximately $400 was reported stolen from the parking lot of the A & P store on Highway 35 on May 19.  P.O. Michael Lasko responded.
  • Several empty beer kegs and about $500 worth of food was reported stolen from a bar located in Aberdeen Pavilion, Highway 34, over the weekend of May 19-20.  P.O. Michael Lasko and P.O. John Young investigated.
  • Sometime between 6:00 PM May 19 and 8:00 AM May 20 someone entered The Farm at Lloyd Road greenhouse and took a quantity of cash.  P.O. Michael Lasko responded.
  • On May 21 a North Concourse resident reported that someone entered his home and took a quantity of jewelry.  P.O. Martin Walsh responded.
  • On May 22 a resident of Avalon apartments, Central Ave., reported damage to his vehicle.  P.O. Darryl Richardson took the report.
  • A resident of Strathmore Gardens, South Atlantic Ave., reported that sometime during the afternoon of May 22 someone entered her apartment and took a quantity of jewelry.  P.O. Christopher DeSarno took the report.
