Aberdeen OEM: How to Prepare for the Nor'easter
The Aberdeen Township Office of Emergency Management offers guidance for the approaching storm.
The following is a message from the Aberdeen Township Office of Emergency Management:
A nor’easter is expected to impact our area Wednesday and Thursday. There is potential for high winds, rain, snow, power outages, and coastal flooding.
Residents should secure loose items and avoid flooded roadways and downed power lines. Residents should prepare for potential power outages by ensuring sufficient fuel, batteries, flashlights, and other supplies are on hand.

Stay away from downed power lines and be aware of falling trees and/or branches. Motorists should not attempt to drive through flooded areas.
In the event of a power outage call JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877). Please do not call police headquarters for power restoration information.

Parking is prohibited in the following areas in case of snowfall:
- Strathmore
- Heather Glen
- Santa Fe Junction
- The Orchards at Aberdeen
Alternate side parking is in effect in the following areas in case of snowfall:
If snow falls on an even day, parking is permitted on the odd-numbered side of the street. If snow falls on an odd day, parking is permitted on the even-numbered side of the street.
- Cliffwood
- Cliffwood Beach
- Oakshades
- River Gardens
- Train station area
- High school area
- Freneau/Woodfield area
Note: Some streets in these areas are subject to full parking prohibition during a snowfall. Check street signs.
