Aberdeen Man Charged with DWI After Accident in Peachtree Village

Police say he left the scene of an accident involving a parked car

An Aberdeen man was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident after a collision at about 2:12 Sunday morning.

Walter Munico, 39, of County Road, allegedly struck a parked car in the Peachtree Village condiminium complex on County Road in Aberdeen and then fled on foot, according to Chief of Police John Powers. The incident was reported to police by a witness. 

P.O. Frank Maisano responded to the scene and located Munico in the complex. The witness identified him as the driver of the vehicle.

Munico was taken into custody and issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident. He was released pending a municipal court appearance.
