A 30-year old man is being held on $20,000 bail

An Aberdeen man has been charged with pushing a uniformed police officer in the chest and knocking him backwards while resisting arrest in an incident Sunday on Wayside Drive.

Brandon C. Overbeck, 30, of Wayside Drive in Aberdeen has been charged with simple assault, aggravated assault on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

Police responded around 2:45 p.m. to a report that Overbeck had assaulted a member of his family member. When officers arrived, Overbeck was verbally warned that he was under arrest but instead he allegedly shouldered Patrolman Michael Lasko and would not comply with putting his arms behind his back, according to the police report.
