Aberdeen Advises Preparedness as Winter Storm Approaches

Snow expected Thursday into Friday morning

With a winter storm approaching Thursday afternoon, Aberdeen officials are advising residents to take precautions to ensure their safety.

Winter weather is expected to affect the area between 4 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, according to the township. Along with snow, temperatures are predicted to drop into the teens.

“As we are preparing for the storm we also would like our residents to do the same,” reads a post on the township Facebook page, which includes the following advice:

  • Keep cars off the streets, so that the snow plows can do their job. Any parking violations will be issued a summons.
  • Be prepared for extremely cold weather.
  • Be courteous and check on elderly neighbors.
  • Bring pets indoors.
  • If at any point in time you lose heat and power and need assistance to a warming station, please call the police station (732-566-2054) and they will assist you.
