This is what $9200 per year gets you in Aberdeen NJ

Think before you buy a home in Aberdeen NJ. My wife and I bought a nice new home in Aberdeen. not being from the area but both NJ bred and I working in the city it was a nice home and close to the train. We did notice the house next door needed some work but the realtor  dismissed it and said they were fixing it up. Seven years later no change. We have had  enough and since I am close to retirement and will one day be moving, decided to ask the town council for help. We were told that the code offical Joe Mac Aleer had given numerous fines for violations. It got to the point where Joe, because the owner disliked him that the city manager, Holly Reycraft,  forbade Joe to drive down gaston st to access the property. Joe had given him 10 days to clean up  the property. In the latter part of April city manager Holly Reycraft then decided to give the owner 6 months (as well as considering forgiving his fines)  to complete the owners "projects", To date  NOTHING has been done, it is worse than ever. They live with no electricity and have a huge hole in the roof, I can just imagine the mold nevermind the animals living in the attic and house. The property has huge piles of lumber and debris as well as overgrown lawn and trees. Look for channel 12 news and The Asbury park press for more information. The town council has done nothing to help....would you vote for these people to help protect your investment???????
