Fixing the Flood Insurance Fiasco

Relief from those looming exorbitant annual premiums may be on the horizon.  At last, the warring politicians in Congress have agreed on a common-sense fix for the bungled 2012 Biggert-Waters Act that threatens homeowners with huge and unaffordable costs.

A vote on the final bill is scheduled for Wed. March 5th in the House. ==>

"After nearly two years of hard work here in Congress and around the country to stop and overturn the most pernicious provisions of Biggert-Waters, we are very close in final negotiations to once again establish affordability as a critical and necessary element in our National Flood Insurance Program," Sen. Landrieu said. ==>  

That "around the country" comment may refer to grassroots citizens' groups such as Stop FEMA Now.
