St. Clement Parishioner Anita Pastoff Dies at 95

Anita (Castaneda) Pastoff, 95, of Morganville, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Bayshore Health Care Center in Holmdel. 

Born in Fort Worth, TX, she lived in Newark before moving to Morganville 25 years ago. Anita was a jeweler at Krementz in Newark, and a parishioner of St. Clement Roman Catholic Church in Matawan.

Anita is predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Pastoff; and her parents, Joseph and Maria Castaneda. She is survived by her loving children, Maria Montenegro and her husband Hank of Morganville, and Linda Capriglione and her husband John of Holmdel; along with three cherished grandchildren, Donna Capriglione, Michael Montenegro and his wife Kelly, and Lauren Montenegro. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited Thursday, Jan. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Friday, Jan. 3 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clement RC Church, Matawan. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel Mausoleum, Marlboro.  

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN  38101-9908, in Anita’s memory would be appreciated.
