Obituary: Joan C. Mauro, 77, Former Matawan Resident

Services are scheduled for Friday and Saturday

Joan C. (Campbell) Mauro, 77, of Morganville, passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.  

She was born in Green Bay, WI, and resided in Matawan before moving to Morganville, where she lived for the past 50 years. She worked as a secretary with Fort Monmouth and then with Cedar Ridge High School as Food Service Administrator.

Joan was a parishioner of St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, Matawan, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed bowling, Jeopardy and Sudoku. Joan’s favorite times were spent in Stone Harbor with her “Crew.”

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Ethel (Clark) Campbell; and two brothers, Thomas and James Campbell. She is survived by her beloved husband, Samuel Mauro; her loving children, Susan Burst and husband Jerry of Jackson; James Mauro and wife Janet of Freehold; Sandy Osadacz and husband Don of Jackson; dear siblings, Jane Auld of Columbus, OH; Patrick Campbell of Franklin Township and Carol Prisk of Ft. Myers, FL; and nine cherished grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Jennifer, Samantha, Amanda, Jordan, Emily, Patrick and Katie. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited on Friday, Nov. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, and Saturday, Nov. 16 at 8 a.m. at the funeral home. A 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Keyport.
