'Loving' Keyport Woman Dies at 76

Emma Eileen Guzman of Hazlet passed away on Saturday in Keyport

Emma Eileen Guzman, 76, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Saturday in Keyport.

She was born on April 11, 1937 in Medford, Mass., where she grew up. She also lived in Malden, Mass. and in 1964 moved to New York City before ultimately settling in Keyport in 2005.

Guzman was a homemaker; she was a loving mother and grandmother, and often was referred to as the matriarch of the Buckley family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel Francis and Emma Gertrude (Lane) Buckley; her beloved daughter, Elisa Padilla, along with her siblings, Danny Buckley and Rita Goodrich. Emma is survived by her loving children, Linda Melendez of Keyport, Rosa Beck and her husband Lawrence Lovejoy of Queens, NY, and Kristina Gonzalez and her husband Luis of Orlando, FL; her siblings, Mary Marchetti, Barbara Rosa, John Buckley, June Wesley, and Joan Crawley, along with her cherished grandchildren, Robert Beck, Russell Beck, Nicole Torres, Michael Gonzalez, Logan Melendez, Amanda Gonzalez, and Desteny Padilla.

She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
