Donald Dement, Formerly of Matawan, Dies at Age 75

Dement was a member of the Keyport Kiwanis Club.

Donald R. Dement, of Stuart, FL, 75, passed away on Jan. 26, 2013. Mr. Dement was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Matawan and Colts Neck before moving to Florida 20 years ago. 

He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Pace University, New York. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps., serving in the period between the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War

He was employed with United States Steel Corporation as an accountant before owning and operating Eastern Steel Erectors, Keyport and Matawan, for many years. In Florida, he was employed as a property manager before retiring. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club, Keyport.  

Mr. Dement is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff Dement, of Sea Bright and Paul and Martha Dement of Red Bank; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Colin Kenny, of Atlantic Highlands; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Grace Dement, of California and William and Pat Dement, Long Island; his five grandchildren, Kevin, Keith, Ryann, Shannon and Greyson; and his former wife, the mother of their children, Mary Mahoney, Sea Girt.
