The Central Jersey Elite 14/15U baseball team went undefeated in the USABL Summer Travel League. The team consists of players from Matawan, Aberdeen and Marlboro. Strong pitching, fielding and hitting were the key. The CJ Elite averaged 11 runs per game while giving up an average of only 1.7.
In the championship game on Sunday, they defeated the Old Bridge Hitmen 12-2 in a 6 inning mercy. There was only one game the entire season they did not mercy the opposition.
All of the boys play for the local high and middle school teams.
The CJ Elite are: Sebi Bellone, Makel Caldwell, John Carelli, Brandon DeKovics, Andrew Gambardella, Kyle Gamble, Anthony Hirujo, Eric Johnson, Griffin Leibell, Antonio Martinez and Brandon Rivera.
The CJ Elite are managed by Rob Gamble and coached by Scott Bellone and Gene DeKovics.
