Old Dogs Need Love too!

There are many reasons a good dog is displaced from their home. Superstorm Sandy left a lot of families unable to keep their pets. Lifestyle changes, family illness, and job changes often leave the family dog in a shelter through no fault of its own.

Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue steps up to help find homes for these furry, displaced family members. Meet the pups looking for a home;

Babie, a poodle that was rescued from New York. He has been neutered and cared for medically and is just the sweetest guy around. He loves to be petted and is extremely affectionate. If you want to give this wonderful guy a home please fill out an application! It's easy and very rewarding.

Miss Corona is approximately 8 years old. She's a cute little girl, a little shy at first, but warms up fairly quickly.  Do you have room in your heart for this sweet girl that came from a hoarder situation? She has had a hard life her first 8 years, so she deserves the rest of her years to be loved and pampered forever.

Maverick is a fully-vetted and neutered 5 year old Male Chow/ Shepherd mix  that was surrendered by his Senior Owners due to lifestyle changes that included them moving into a home with their young grand-children. Maverick is a typical Chow Personality: Independent, but at the same time,a  very Loyal and loving companion to his Owner/Foster. As such, Maverick needs to warm up to strangers but overall, Maverick has proven to be a very, very  loving companion.

 Fancy is an approximately 7 year old, beautiful black and white Dachshund girl, who came to us pregnant and gave birth to her 3 puppies here in NJ.  This poor girl was subject to a life in a puppy mill as a breeder, but has finally found freedom and is loving it.  She's been a wonderful Mom, and is now looking for a home of her own.

Jeannie, a female Yorkie came from a puppy mill that was closed down. Shy but sweet,  needs a forever home to finally love her.

Leena is an adorable, approximately 6 lb yorkie.  She has been in foster care being completely loved. She needs  to be the one & only lapdog in an adult household. Leena is wee pad trained, LOVES her doggy clothes, playing fetch, sitting on your lap, going for car rides & walking on the leash....This pup was obviously very loved & spoiled in her previous home &  will make the perfect lap companion. We feel that Leena would do best in a home that doesn't have small children or other dogs.

Cece is an approximately 3 year old girl, about 45 lbs, looking for a new home.  Her parents say they think she is lab, basset hound, pug mix.  She is black with a brown stripe down the center of her back and brown eyes. She gets along great with other dogs as she currently lives with 2 others. She is spayed and all of her shots are up to date.  She's a pretty girl, with a great personality, great with kids and loves to play and loves to take walks.

Scooter is a shy Shih Tzu mix that someone dumped in the shelter.  He was very scared there, but now he's in the Castle of Dreams and doing well. Scooter has been groomed (new pics coming soon!) and all ready to find his forever family.

Benny is a six year old 70 lb  Shepherd/Husky mix. A really laid back and loving boy. Benny does take some extra time to adjust to new people but once he trusts you, he's your best buddy.  He has gotten along well with smaller female dogs and is completely housebroken, neutered and up to date on all shots. He loves to cuddle with his stuffed animals. Because he can get nervous around people, a home with small children is not recommended.

Dottie was rescued from a puppy mill, another breeder dog who they threw away when she was no longer of use to them.  Poodle/maltese mix.  She's a little girl, weighs only about 11.8 lbs. and her fosters mom says she looks like a little lamb with a lamby pie personality. She is shy but has really come a long way and come out of her shell.  She just loves the other dogs, and hops when she runs playing with them.  She loves to be held and will melt in your arms.  This sweet girl deserves to have a real family that will love her forever. Dottie is about 7 years old.

Bear is 5 years old. She is half Rottweiler half German Shepherd. She is spayed and approx 90 to 100 pounds. She likes to walk, likes rides in the car, likes to play, very active. She was owned in a home with no children so I am unaware how she would act with them. I also don't know how she is with other dogs because she did not live with other dogs. She lived with one cat and was friendly with it. If you need any other information please go to the website.

Cameo is rescued along with her baby,  they were dumped but never made it into the shelter.  They will be coming to NJ on 8/3  to search for their forever homes.  Cameo is sweet but she, approx. 5 years old.

Boscoe - 7 year old 6 lb. Yorkie mix male came from a puppy mill that was closed down. Shy but sweet,  needs a forever home to finally love him

Polly, Boarder Collie mix was dumped in a kill shelter in Tennessee.  She is super sweet,  great with other dogs, people,  kids,  just about anyone that crosses her path.  She is housebroken, up to date on all shots, micro-chipped, and spayed.

Lucy a 10 - 11 year old whippet/beagle mix.  She is 32 lbs of muscle with a gorgeous, shiny coat who comes up to your knee. Lucy is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. Lucy is an affectionate lap dog that needs a loving home with no small children. Although considered a "senior" canine, Lucy is often confused for a much younger dog and remains very active in her adult years. She loves to cuddle and knows many commands such as sit, lay, paw, and roll over.
