Recipe: Ice Cream Pie for Labor Day

A delicious treat for your Labor Day weekend.

It's Labor Day weekend and everyone is enjoying a nice day off and a long weekend to end a busy summer. We are all having barbecues and end of summer parties at home or at the beach.

I hope you have a relaxing weekend with your family. Here's an easy dessert recipe that you and your kids can make to go with your celebration and it includes ice cream, which we all love to eat. 

Ice Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 graham cracker pie shell
  • 1 quart of ice cream (your favorite flavor)

Some toppings for your pie (choose what you like):

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 8 crushed peanut butter cups
  • chocolate syrup-drizzled on top
  • rainbow sprinkles
  • chocolate shell
  • mini marshmallows

Directions

1. Take out ice cream to soften (10-15 min)

2. Scoop into pie shell and flatten-add toppings next (option#1)

3. You can put 1/2 quart then add chocolate chips or crushed candy(option#2)

4. Add next 1/2 quart and flatten

5. Put syrup or shell,sprinkles and marshmallows on top

6. Freeze completed pie uncovered until ready to eat

7. Slice and enjoy!

Your kids can make this great dessert by themselves or with your help. You can create your own blend of ingredients for your pie and you can double ingredients and use two pie shells.
