Toy Drive Aims to Help Bayshore Families Recovering from Sandy

Several drop off spots are accepting donations

Several Bayshore organizations and businesses have banded together to collect toys for families still recovering from Superstorm Sandy.

The goal of the drive is to “provide an awesome Christmas” for families that, even more than a year after the storm, are struggling to get back on their feet, according to Robert LaBerta, former chief of the Union Beach Fire Department and founder of the Knights of the Inferno Firefighters motorcycle club.

LaBerta’s club was founded five years ago with the mission of helping emergency, military and community members in their time of need. The club has teamed up with several Bayshore businesses to help out this holiday season.
