Sanzio Bake Sale Fundraiser a Success

More than $6,000 raised for children in need during 2013 sale

This year's Sanzio Salon and Day Spa bake sale topped last year's efforts, bringing in more than $6,000 for area children in need.

"To all of our friends, family and Sanzio clients—thank you so much for your support with the 2013 Bake Sale," writes David Levy, an organizer, on Facebook.

"Your love and generosity will provide for a wonderful donation to the Rainbow Foundation—a local organization that provides support for children in critical medical need."

More than $29,000 total has been raised by the bake sale over the since its inception seven years ago, according to organizers. In 2013 it was held the weekend before Christmas at the salon's 1008 Route 34 location.

Funds also will be used to help the Kurzeja family pay medical expenses, as their 11-year-old boy battles leukemia.

"Again, many thanks for your contributions of baked goods, financial support, and most of all love towards making this year's holiday bake sale such a tremendous success!!" Levy writes.
