Matawan Historical Society Monthly Meeting

Local historian Al Savolaine will present  "The Great Killer Spanish Influenza comes to Matawan in 1918." The program is about life in a small New Jersey village, Matawan, at this time. It is estimated that 100 million people died in all parts of the world, including 650,000 in the United States during this epidemic. Entire families perished and survivors had to live with the memories of the horrible death scenes of their loved ones. After the program light refreshments will be served. A short business meeting will follow. Come and join us for an engaging evening.
