Dixieland Band and Chili Dinner

The toe-tapping, finger-snapping rhythms of The
Rhythm Kings Dixieland Band, along with a hot Southern meal, return to the
First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, 883 Highway 34, Matawan on Sunday
afternoon, April 27, at 5 p.m.

            Audience members
are treated to chili (both meat and vegetarian), cornbread and dessert,
included in the price of the ticket, while they listen to the band’s infectious
humor, sparkling counterpoint and playful arrangements. Saxophonist Jerry Rife,
professor of music at Rider University in Lawrenceville, heads up an ensemble
that includes trumpet, saxophones, tuba, drums and banjo and never fails to get
its audiences swaying, clapping and singing along.

Tickets in advance are $15 for adults, $10 for children and senior
citizens. Tickets cost $5 more at the door. For more information and directions
to the church, call (732) 566-2663.
