Who's Matawan-Aberdeen's Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Obama their person of the year for the second time. Tell us who you think should win from our town!

Time magazine may have named President Obama their Person of the Year, but Matawan and Aberdeen residents know that many of their neighbors are worthy of the title.

Who is Matawan-Aberdeen’s Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?

It could be anyone, from Aberdeen's first female police officer to a Girl Scout who collected 200 pairs of shoes for the Monmouth County homeless to high school students who created portraits for disadvantaged children to the man who started the Hope Tree in Union Beach to a marine killed in action that was honored in Aberdeen with a street dedication.
