Matawan Historian Al Savolaine will present a program entitled "The Great Matawan Fire of 1901," a tragic event consisting of a series of three fires, set by arsonists, which destroyed a large section of the town including fifteen businesses, a public opera house, five fraternal lodges, and numerous private residences. Light Refreshments will be served after the 7 p.m. meeting at the Burrowes Mansion.
