Tuesday: Matawan Council to Hold Special Executive Session and Public Meeting

The executive session will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a public meeting.

Editor's note: At the special action meeting, the council voted to accept the retirement of James M. Alston, a Matawan police officer who was demoted from chief to lieutenant in 2011. Read more here.

The Matawan Borough Council will hold a special executive session on Tuesday Nov. 27 at the Matawan Municipal Community Center.

The executive session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the governing body will discuss personnel, contracts and litigation during the closed session. According to a public notice issued by the borough, action will not be taken during the closed session.

Immediately following the executive session, the Matawan Borough Council will hold a special public meeting. The meeting is expected to begin at 6 p.m. and the public is welcome to attend this portion of the meeting. 

The council expects to take formal action during the public portion of the meeting.
