Friday, Oct. 19

Brookdale’s Haunted Theater, Middletown, 7 p.m.

Check out the 10th anniversary of Brookdale’s Haunted Theater. At this spooky event, students show just how scary they can make the Performing Arts Center. There will be a 15-20 minute tour of the theater with “Come at Your Own Risk” tours starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, 20, and 21

Saturday, Oct. 20

Beach Clean Up, Cliffwood Beach, 9 a.m.

Volunteers of all ages are needed for a beach clean up on Saturday, October 20, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at Cliffwood Beach Park. The event will take place rain or shine. Volunteers can sign up on the morning of the event at the Fishermen’s Parking Lot on Lakeshore Drive at Whale Creek (across from the Hockey Rink).  Participants should wear closed toe shoes (no flip-flops) and dress for the weather. Gloves are available at sign up.

Rummage and Bake Sale, Aberdeen, 9 a.m.

The Matawan United Methodist Church will hold a rummage sale and a bake sale on Saturday. Please call 732-566-2996 for additional information. 

Street Dedication to Fallen Marine, Aberdeen, 10 a.m.

A ceremony will take place to dedicate Lance Corporal Phillip E. Frank Way, in honor of the former Aberdeen resident who died in Iraq as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Lance Cpl. Phillip E. Frank Way will be located in The Bluffs at Aberdeen, a new residential development under construction off County Road in the Cliffwood section of the township.

Rose Hill Cemetery Tour, Matawan, 10 a.m.

Enjoy a walking tour of New Jersey's most haunted cemetery. The guide will tell stories about over 30 local residents throughout history. Attendees will also hear about the 1916 shark attacks and a 1901 suspected arsonist. The tour begins at 10 a.m. and is estimated to last two hours. A $10 donation to the Matawan Historical Society is required for people over 12.

Antique Classic Car Show, Aberdeen, 11 a.m.

Check out this antique classic car show at the Matawan United Methodist Church, hosted by the "Jersey Dream Machines". The event supports the church's food bank. 

Centerpiece Craft at Dearborn Market, Holmdel, 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. 

Make a beautiful fall centerpiece with a mum and pumpkin cuttings at Dearborn Market in Holmdel for $10 a person.  The crafting begins between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. For more information, contact Nicole Luccarelli at nluccarelli@dearbornmarket.com.

YMCA Annual Fun Fest, Marlboro, 12 p.m.

Enjoy family friendly Halloween events this Saturday at noon at Camp Arrowhead in Marlboro. Family activities include pumpkin painting, face painting, hayrides, moon bounce, sand art and refreshments.  This event is geared towards young children. Entrance fee is $5.00 per carload.

Halloween Hullaballoo, Middletown, 5 p.m.

There will be costume contests beginning at 5 p.m. for different age groups: ages 2 and under, ages 3-5, ages 6-8, ages 9-12, and groups of 2 or more. Plus there will be haunted hay rides at 5:30 PM and an exciting magic show at 6 p.m.  All night there will be cartooning with the Doodle Dude. Trinity's Annual Goods and Services Auction, Matawan, 6 p.m.

Come join us on Saturday, October 20, 2012 for Trinity's Annual Goods and Services auction.  Enjoy some light finger food and bid on incredible baskets, containing not only items like gift certificates and theater tickets, but coupons for services donated by our parishioners and friends.

Terror on Tindall, Middletown, 7 p.m.

Want to have a spooky experience in the woods? Check out Middletown HS North’s senior council transformation of Tindall Park into a Halloween-themed extravaganza with this year’s theme“Terror on Tindall.” It is a series of scary scenes connected by a storyline that will prove to be chilling from beginning to end. For kids, there will be a “Happy Trail” with face and pumpkin painting, Halloween stories, sugar skulls, and more. The scary trail opens just after dusk (around 6:30-7 p.m.) with “Happy Trail” opening before dark. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. YMCA Fright Ride, Marlboro, 7 p.m.

Get spooked on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Camp Arrowhead in Marlboro. The event includes a Haunted Hayride and Spooky Bake Sale, as well as other hidden horrors. Entrance fee is $5.00 per person.

Sunday, Oct. 21

Bone Marrow Drive, Aberdeen, 9 a.m.

Help save the lives of adults and children. Temple Shalom will host bone marrow donor registration on Sunday. October 21st from 9:00am until noon. It's easy to join the registry - just fill out an application and swab your cheek. Collection will be made with help from the Icla da Silva Foundation, Inc.

Halloween Parade, Red Bank, 1 p.m.

Show off your Halloween costume at the  with the lineup and judging beginning at 1 p.m. at the corner of East Bergen and South Street. This will be a fun event for the whole family! For more information, contact the Borough Department of Parks and Recreation at 732-530-2782.
