Over 4,000 Old Bridge Homes Without Power After Nor'easter, Shelter Still Open
A comfort station is open at the Carl Sandburg Middle School.
Old Bridge residents who found themselves with restored power after Hurricane Sandy are now experiencing the cold and dark again, after a nor'easter dropped more than 5 inches on the township on Tuesday night.
Road conditions improved on Thursday as salt trucks and plows continued to work, but over 4,000 homes were still without without power.
Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry said in a message to residents that the shelter at Carl Sandburg Middle School located at 3439 Rt. 516 is still open for residents to get warm and charge electronic devices.

The comfort station and shelter are set up for Old Bridge Township Residents only.
A broken water pipe at the George Bush Senior Center and Recreation Civic Center has prevented the township from opening a shelter in that building.

Middlesex Water experienced a boil water advisory earlier in the week, however Old Bridge Township residents are not currently being serviced by that company, according to Henry.
Water conservation is recommended due to flow-related issues at the Middlesex County Utilities Authority in Sayreville. No disruption of water or sewer service for Old Bridge customers is expected.
