New Sponsorship Opportunities Available for Aberdeen Day 2012

Get your local business' message out there by supporting Aberdeen Day

As plans take shape for the redesigned Aberdeen Day Celebration on Saturday, September 22, Aberdeen’s Recreation Department and Business Council have announced additional sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and organizations.

This year, for the first time, there will be a special Merchant Sponsorship category featuring six levels ranging from $50 to $500 for a variety of new sponsorship vehicles. These include sponsorships of a pair of large highway banners on Routes 34 and 35 promoting Aberdeen Day; advertising banners at the first-ever ‘Mayor’s Trophy’ evening softball game between the township’s fire companies and police department; sponsorship of the first-ever ‘Aberdeen’s Got Talent’ event that will be held at the AMF Shopping Center on Route 34; signage and literature distribution within the new Aberdeen Business Council booth at the traditional Aberdeen Day celebration at Matawan Regional High School; and business listings on free t-shirts that will be distributed that day.

The Merchant Sponsorships will join the traditional categories offering four different levels of sponsorship ranging in price from $250 to $1,000. The Premier, Platinum, Gold and Silver Packages offer exposure prior to and during Aberdeen Day, including mentions on the township website, and in press releases, advertising and on signage at high school-based events.

In addition to the traditional opportunities for businesses to set up tables or booths at the high school, those located within participating shopping centers will now have the option to also set up special sidewalk or parking lot displays on Aberdeen Day.  The event participation fee for merchants displaying at the high school or outside their business location is $40 per site.

As previously announced, the high school will remain the setting for the traditional afternoon (noon to 4:00 p.m.) Aberdeen Day celebration incorporating a Classic Car Show, entertainment, children’s rides, vendor tables, food concessions, and a crafts fair. However, plans have been confirmed for several new events throughout the day at various locations including:

Additionally, the Business Council is working on a ‘Dine Aberdeen’ coupon program offering special discounts at participating Aberdeen restaurants from morning to night

“These new elements reflect the efforts of our administration and Business Council to make Aberdeen Day a platform to expose residents of our community and surrounding towns to more of what the township and its businesses have to offer,” said Township Manager Holly Reycraft.  “The members of our Business Council are genuinely excited about this year’s events and sponsorship opportunities, and we hope that others who do business here in Aberdeen will jump on the bandwagon as participants and sponsors.”
