Did Mike Plant serve 24 years or 4 years in the Marines? Under the headline it's says 24 years, yet in the third paragraph it states "Plant began his military service...in 1988" and "was honorably discharged in 1992."

I was aghast at how one church group, on a float was tossing candy to the children viewing the parade. The candy, individually wrapped, was thrown AT the kids, all of it landing in the dirt, at the kids feet. Who knows what bacteria or contaminants were present? One parent, I saw, prevented her child from picking up the candy. Many others scrambled for the stuff, in the dirt, and then stuffed the candy into their mouthes, ingesting who knows what. It was a disgusting spectical.
