Update: No Reported Power Outages in Matawan & Aberdeen

Coastal flooding is still in the forecast for Thursday morning.

Update: as of 5 a.m. Thursday, no outages are reported. The coastal flood warning remains in effect.

Update: As of 6 p.m., outages have decreased dramatically. None are reported in Matwan and 508 are reported in Aberdeen. Reports indicate that the majority of outages are located near Cliffwood Avenue.

It's been a blustery day so far in Aberdeen and Matawan as a nor'easter approaches the state.

As of 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 1,118 power outages in the area have been reported to Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), including 547 in Aberdeen and 671 in Matawan.

The First Energy Outage Map contains a severe weather alert in their service area and warn customers that that outages may last for 24 hours or longer.

Early alerts of coastal flooding have also begun, including on streets near the bay in Keyport Borough.
