It’s Raining Cats and Dogs at the MCSPCA

Hurricane adoptions are underway at the Eatontown shelter.

From the Monmouth County SPCA:

As the East Coast prepares for the arrival of Hurricane Irene so are the animals of the Monmouth County SPCA (MCSPCA).  While it is raining cats and dogs outside’ the cats and dogs inside the MCSPCA are putting on their best raingear and getting ready to meet their perfect match.

The MCSPCA is one of 50 organizations across the country participating in the ASPCA $100,000 Challenge. The organization that saves the most lives over a three month period will earn a $100,000 grant from the ASPCA.  This nationally held competition runs from August through October and as the first month draws to a close the MCSPCA is on track to complete 300 adoptions in the first month!

Currently the Monmouth County SPCA sits at 255 adoptions month to date, which is already an increase over last year’s adoption numbers for August, which had 196 animals find their forever homes.  Reaching the 300 mark would be a great start to the competition and the animals and staff of the MCSPCA don’t want Hurricane Irene to stand in their way of achieving this goal.

When you are making your list of supplies before the big storm don’t forget to stop at the Homeward Bound Adoption Center and get your cat or dog to help you weather the storm.  What could be better than cozying up to your new furry friend on a long rainy weekend?  Every adopter will go home with a MCSPCA VIP Adoption Swag Bag filled with goodies for you and your newly adopted pet, including a free litter box for cats or free “clean and go” poop bags for dogs during our Raining Cats and Dogs Adoption Promotion.
