Flooding Closes Lanes on Rt. 35

Heavy rain causes lane closures between County Rd and Cliffwood Ave

Heavy rain has caused a section of Route 35 to flood between County Road and Cliffwood Avenue. According to 511NJ.org, as of 6:12 a.m. the right lane traveling in both directions is closed.

There is a flash flood warning in effect for the area until 11 a.m. today and a flood watch in effect throughout the afternoon. The warnings caution drivers to avoid driving through water on roads, as it may be difficult to tell how deep the water actually is.

As of 8:15 a.m., one to two lanes are closed and there are 25 minute delays reported by 511NJ.org. Use another route if possible until the water level recedes.

As of 8:51 a.m., both northbound lanes are closed and detoured, according to 511NJ.org.

As of 9:13 a.m., all southbound lanes are closed and detoured and the right lane on the northbound side is closed.
