Job Fair Sept. 22 at Brookdale Community College

Government-sponsored event will bring 100 employers to the Recreation and Events center.

A message from Monmouth County:

If you are looking for a job, you should attend a job fair from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at Brookdale Community College, 765 Newman Springs Rd in Lincroft. You will have access to companies seeking talented residents in every discipline, from hospitality and health care to telecommunications, computer science, finance, education and everything in between.

More than 100 local employers and employment resource organizations will be participating in the free event. No registration is required for jobseekers.

“In addition to bringing in top employers from throughout the Monmouth County area, we are providing resources for jobseekers to help them put their best foot forward while searching for a job,” said Eileen Higgins, Director of the Department of Workforce Development.

During the job fair, a seminar entitled “Seven Secrets for Successful Job Search” will be presented by Dr. Patricia Licata of the Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources. Sessions will be held at 4 and 6 p.m., and registration is not necessary.

Also, a free resume review will be offered by Rob Mandelberg of Creative Edge.

The event is a partnership with the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Monmouth County Workforce Investment Board, New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Monmouth-Ocean Development Council, Jersey Shore Association of Human Resources, LADACIN Network, and Brookdale Community College.

The county offers ongoing job services at its One-Stop Career Center in Eatontown. Within the One-Stop, the Fort Monmouth Resource Center has services available to jobseekers who will be displaced due to this month’s closing of the Fort.

“The county continues to redirect its resources to be more responsive to the needs of the business community,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the county’s Division of Workforce Development. “This job fair is one way we are helping people and the business community during these very difficult economic times.”

To register as a participating employer, call 732-683-8850 ext. 3711 or email the job fair coordinator at lawrence.sternbach@dol.state.nj.us.
