Aberdeen Holds Preliminary Budget Hearing

The hearing was an overview of what departments expect to spend next year

The Aberdeen Township Manager, Holly Reycraft, will held a budget hearing on the proposed 2012 Municipal Budget Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 9 a.m. at the Aberdeen Township Municipal Building.

The Department Heads of the Township of Aberdeen were present to discuss expected costs and present requests for certain items. For example, the police department requested a new four wheel drive vehicle as the vehicle currently owned by the department was acquired in 2004.

The requests are just that - requests, explained Reycraft. There is no guarantee that they will be granted or approved by the township council. A more detailed preliminary version of the 2012 budget will be discussed the council in March.
