Mike's Train House president and founder recently visited the store

Locals had their answers about the latest in model trains answered recently in Aberdeen when a notable name in the industry stopped by a local hobby store.

Mike Wolf, president and founder of Maryland-based Mike’s Train House, recently visited the Hobby Shop, 1077C Route 34, to greet customers and show off some of his latest prototypes.

"Train enthusiasts of all ages asked questions, took pictures with him and got his autograph on their train boxes and catalogs," Cathy Zavorskas of the Hobby Shop said in an email. "Many also enjoyed watching the  trains, trolleys, aquarium, carnival rides, and lighted buildings on the layout."

"It really was a great afternoon for all the participants," Zavorskas said.

All seven of the shop’s trains were running in its new model display celebrating the Jersey Shore. Included in the display, which highlights scenes from each season, are an aquarium, drive-in movie theater, camp ground, boardwalk, and more, according to organizers.
