Important School Dates for the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District

School is coming up sooner than you think. Calendars for the 2013-14 year have been approved and are available on district websites. 

Here's a quick look at some important dates for the first half of the upcoming year.

Entire District

  • Sept. 2, 2013: Labor Day, no school for students
  • Sept. 5 and 6, 2013: Rosh Hashanah, no school for students
  • Sept. 9, 2013: First day of school for students 
  • Oct. 9, 2013: First marking period progress reports issued
  • Oct. 14, 2013: Columbus Day, no school for students
  • Nov. 7 and 8, 2013: NJEA Convention and Veteran's Day Observance, no school for students
  • Nov. 13: First marking period ends
  • Nov. 27, 2013: Half day for students and staff
  • Nov. 28 and 29, 2013: Thanksgiving, school closed
  • Dec. 19, 2013: Progress reports issued
  • Dec. 20, 2013: Half day for students and staff
  • Dec. 23-31, 2013: Winter recess, no school for students and staff
  • Jan. 1, 2014: New Year's Day, no school for students and staff
Matawan Regional High School
  • Oct. 23, 2013: Evening parent-teacher conferences, half day for students
  • Oct. 24, 2013: Afternoon parent-teacher conferences, half day for students
Matawan Aberdeen Middle School
  • Oct. 23, 2013: Afternoon parent-teacher conferences, half day for students
  • Oct. 24, 2013: Evening parent-teacher conferences, half day for students
Elementary Schools
  • Dec. 4, 2013: Afternoon parent-teacher conferences at Lloyd Road and Cambridge Park, evening conferences at Cliffwood, Strathmore and Ravine Drive, half day for students
  • Dec. 5, 2013: Afternoon parent-teacher conferences at Cliffwood, Strathmore and Ravine Drive, evening conferences at Lloyd Road and Cambridge Park, half day for students
