Budget cuts at the Matawan-Aberdeen Library mean some changes at the institution, including increased late fines.
The library's 5 cent late fines will increase to 10 cents and the 10 cent fines will rise to 20 cents, according to a statement issued by the library.
"We regret having to make these changes, but they are necessary so that we can continue to provide quality service and resources to our patrons," the statement posted on the library website reads.
In addition to the late charge changes, the library will have reduced hours on Wednesdays, closing at 6 p.m.
