Walk Supports Military Working Dogs & Service Dogs for Wounded Warriors

The K9 Sgt. Denny Project was organized by the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Fund and the Middletown Lions Club.

Grab your four-legged friend this weekend to help support military working dogs and service dogs for wounded warriors.

The first ever K9 Sgt. Denny Dog Walk will take place at the New Jersey Army National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt on Saturday, May 11.

There will be two distances to choose from, half a mile or a mile. Each dog must be registered to participate. Pre-registered dogs cost $25 while day-of registrants cost $30. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. All dogs who participate will receive an event bandana and a doggie bag sponsored by Pet Valu.

The walk was organized by the Lt. Dennis W. Zillinski II Memorial Fund and the Middletown Lions Clubs in order to raise money to provide much needed supplies to military working dogs and to provide service dogs to soldiers suffering from the physical or emotional scars of war. All of the service dogs are rescue animals and both the veteran and the dog undergo intensive training.

Participants and onlookers are also welcome to bring donations such as shampoo, conditioner, snacks, tennis balls, Kong toys and Nylabones. Financial donations can be made regardless of participation at www.runwithdennis.org.
