Leaf Pick-Up Scheduled for Tuesday

Due to Veterans' Day, leaves will be collected on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Leaf collection in Manalapan Township is scheduled for every Monday in November and December, but since Veterans’ Day is being observed today, leaf pick up will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

All fallen leaves must be placed in biodegradable compost bags; leaves will not be collected if they are not in these bags. The biodegradable compost bags can be purchased at the Public Works Department of Manalapan on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please note that the Manalapan Township Municipal Building is closed today in observance of Veterans’ Day.

Debris from the storm such as twigs, tree limbs, or  should not be placed in these bags. Debris collection will be collected, they have just been delayed due to last week’s snowstorm. Please place this debris at the curb, but be sure it is not in the street as that may cause hazardous driving conditions.

I have a lot of fallen trees from Sandy. I have them in my backyard and want to put them in front of my house but Since I live on a cal-de-sac there really isn't a safe place to stack them. If I knew within a weeks time that the township was planning on a pick up I would bring them to the front. Any idea on when this is happening. I leave on Darby ct. In Manalapan.
