Matawan Regional HS Volleyball Tournament Raises Over $1400 for Restore the Bayshore

The high-energy tournament pitted high school students, staff and the Matawan and Aberdeen PBA's against one another.

The Matawan Regional High School student council volleyball tournament raised over $1,400 for Restore the Bayshore, a local charitable organization that supports Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

The event brought in $1,486 through admission tickets, a 50/50 raffle and Restore the Bayshore merchandise that the student council sold, according to MRHS teacher Marc Komito. The winner of the 50/50 raffle chose to donate the winnings back to the cause, he said.

The high-energy tournament was a Round Robin style competition between high school students, faculty, Aberdeen PBA Local #163 and Matawan PBA Local #179.
