Aberdeen Day is This Saturday

Come out for some community fun, prizes and games

Aberdeen Day 2011 is here and packed full of activities for people of all ages. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Matawan Regional High School athletic fields located on Atlantic Avenue in Aberdeen,

The day will kick off with a performance by the Matawan Regional High School Marching Band at noon and continue with entertainment throughout the day by the oldies band "Meant to Be," Rebound Gymnastics, the Next Level Dance Group and much more, according to a release from the township.

There will also be free children's rides and activities, a classic car show, a crafts fair and exhibits by area non-profit organizations, local businesses, and the township's DARE and CERT programs. A variety of food and refreshments will also be available.

Aberdeen Day 2011 is being made possible at no cost because of generous support from more than 20 area businesses and organizations who signed on as sponsors for this year’s event. Premier and Platinum sponsors included Aberdeen Townsquare Shopping Center, The Blue Rock Café, Columbia Bank, and CME Associates.

Editor's Note: Patch will be there too with lots of fun Patch stuff! Look for our bright green table and tent and come meet your local editor, Chelsea Naso. Take a chance and spin our wheel to win a prize, all of which are child-friendly (especially the bubbles!).
