Cross of Glory Lutheran Church to Hold Its Sixth Annual Tree Lighting and Carol Sing Dec. 15
song, food and spirit will be in plentiful supply for
the entire community
DEC. 2, 2013 Aberdeen, NJ — As it has done for the five previous years, the congregation of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Aberdeen will swing its doors open to the entire Aberdeen community and beyond to celebrate Christmas through song and merriment. Christmas cheer will be in abundant supply at Cross of Glory’s sixth annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Carol Sing, to be held on Dec. 15 at 5 pm. rain or shine, at 95 Cambridge Drive.
Festivities will commence with carol singing and a surprise appearance or two, followed by the lighting of Cross of Glory’s decorated 30-foot tree. Revelers are then invited into Fellowship Hall to enjoy home baked sweets and pastries alongside other refreshments provided by Delicious Orchards and Dearborn Farms. The tree will remain lit every night through the 2013 holiday season.
“It’s a wonderful time for families and friends,” says Jeremy Samuelson, head of Cross of Glory’s tree lighting committee. “We sing our hearts out every year—our ‘12 Days of Christmas’ shouldn’t be missed. Then we light the tree, and head back inside to our Fellowship Hall for a smorgasbord of treats and sweets.”
For each of the last five years, Delicious Orchards of Colts Neck has generously donated sweets and cider to the event, and for the first time Dearborn Farms will also chip in. To volunteer, or for further information about the event, please contact Mr. Samuelson at 732- 583-1118, visit www.coglcnj.org, or go to Cross of Glory Lutheran Church’s Facebook page.
