ABERDEEN ECONOMIC BUSINESS COUNCIL ENCOURAGES SUPPORT OF RELAY FOR LIFE AT MATAWAN REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

The Aberdeen Economic Business Council (EBC) is encouraging the community to support the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” at Matawan Regional High School Friday, June 13 to Saturday, June 14.

Relay For Life is a community-based overnight fundraising walk held at locations nationwide and around the world.  Events take place at area parks, high schools and college campuses.  Throughout the night, team members take turns walking around the track.  Food, games and activities provide entertainment and build camaraderie during the event.   In addition, the Relay For Life includes the Survivors Lap and the Luminaria Ceremony.  The events also recognize and celebrate caregivers, who give time, love, and support to their friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers facing cancer.

To date, 26 teams have signed up for the event at Matawan Regional H.S., raising over $12,000.  Last year’s event at Matawan Regional High School raised $92,000. To donate to one of the participating teams, visit www.relayforlife.org.  Select the “Get Involved” tab on the home page and scroll down to “Donate.”
