Monmouth County residents struggling to recover from Superstorm Sandy are invited to an assistance event Wednesday in Union Beach.

The hard-hit Bayshore community will host the Affordable Housing Alliance Assistance Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the community’s Borough Hall, 650 Poole Ave., according to organizers.

Representatives will be able to help locals with heating and electric assistance benefits, housing programs, counseling and wellness programs, and social and family development programs. Also available will be referrals to other social services, organizers said.
