Library Accepting Food Donations In Lieu of Fines
Food for Fines program runs through December
If those library fines are piling up, now may be a good time to get them taken care of.
The Matawan-Aberdeen library is accepting non-perishable food items and toiletries in lieu of fines through December. Those items will then be donated to the Matawan Food Pantry.
Items that may be donated must not be past their expiration date. They include: canned goods, boxed pasta, laundry detergent, toothpaste, deodorant and diapers.
Donations do not cover lost or damaged materials, or lost card fees, the library said.
