The Bayshore Deanery of the Diocese of Trenton will celebrate a special Mass of Thanksgiving to honor His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI on Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church.
The Homilist will be Very Rev. Douglas A. Freer Vicar for Catholic Education, Diocese of Trenton.
Parishes to be represented include St. Agnes/Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Atlantic Highlands/Highlands; St. Ann, Keansburg; St. Benedict, Holmdel; St. Catherine, Middletown; St. Clement, Matawan; Holy Family, Hazlet; Jesus the Lord, Keyport; St. Joseph, Keyport; and Mary Mother of God, Middletown

More About St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church and School
Reverend Daniel F. Swift is the leader of St. Benedict RCC parish in Holmdel, one of two Catholic churches in Holmdel. The church has a very active parish and is involved in numerous community outreach efforts. It operates a Knights of Columbus, a St. Vincent de Paul Society, a pantry, prayer groups and more.
Principal Mary Ellen Lilly supervises St. Ben's, as it is known around town. It is an established coed K- 8th grade school that attracts children from Holmdel, Hazlet, Matawan and other towns. Kindergarten is full-day. The children wear uniforms.
