What Businesses Should Open in Regent Shopping Center?
There are currently three vacancies in Regent Shopping Center, near Bed, Bath & Beyond and Stop & Shop. Tell us what you would like to see move into town.
Regent Shopping Center is constantly buzzing with customers looking for new shoes at Famous Footwear, picking up groceries at Stop & Shop, grabbing deli items from DeMarco's or dropping off dry cleaning at Strathmore Cleaners.
Patrons may also be visiting the bank or taking their children to math tutoring at Math Monkey.
Despite the amount of regular foot-traffic in the shopping center, however, three stores remain vacant. Planet Beach, a tanning salon, and Little Scoops, an ice cream parlor, are two of the businesses that packed up and left months ago.
What types of stores would you like to see move in here? Tell us in the comments below.

A luncheonette where they serve sandwiches and the like instead of the junky, high calorie fast food stores on the highway. Panera bread is a good idea too.

Red Robin (nearest one is South Plainfield), Trader Joe's (Shrewsbury nearest?), Panera Bread (shoppes at Old Bridge off that nightmare called Texas Road is closest?) or Quiznos.

LOL. Texas Road must be a county road or something. What's up with that? It is well traveled but poorly developed. Besides the raw condition of the road it has some trees leaning threateningly over the road. I think they're resting against other trees and will eventually fall on some poor soul. Are you feeling lucky? I love Red Robin and Panera Bread, but I doubt they'd fill one of those small slots in that shopping center. We definitely rate a major chain restaurant like that, though.

I dont think Matawan is an attractive location for Trader Joes. They are very picky with where they set up shop and you have Livotis right there. I would say Quiznos because i dont think there is one conveniently close. Also now that Philly cheese steak and southside cheeseteak have closed (victims of location) i think a cheesteak/fat sandwich place would be good. Also maybe a Chipotle/Qudoba/Moe's.
