Waverly Place home is finalist in Deck the House contest

Time is ticking. We only have a few more days to show the nation that we care about the Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District.

Last month, Tara Carroll-Darcy of 25 Waverly Place in Strathmore entered a video of her holiday decorations for a shot at having her December electric bill paid and a shot at winning $100,000 for the school district through Patch's Deck The House contest.

The Carroll-Darcy house made it into the top 24, but they need your help to win $100,000 for the school district. Your part is simple. Just follow the link below and click the big, red "vote" button. You will be prompted to log in with your Facebook account to verify your identity, but this does not link your Patch account to your Facebook. You are allowed to vote once a day, every day until Jan. 8 at 11:59 p.m.

Just imagine what we could do with all that cash! $100,000 dollars is the equivilant of 5,000 soccer balls, 83 MacBook Pro laptops or 52 new promethean smartboards for our students.

Make sure to tell your neighbors! Call them, knock on their door, post this article on their Facebook page, Tweet about voting and email chelsea.naso@patch.com with your address for a lawn sign (check out a photo of the sign on our Facebook). If everyone in town voted just once, we would be in first place already. So spread the word and don't stop voting!

This voting gimmick seems to require that I register at the Patch using my Facebook account. I've already got an account and don't plan to connect with Facebook too. Disappointed but shouldn't be surprised.

The contest requires you to log in with your Facebook, but it doesn't link your account to it or change your username. It's just a way to verify that you are who you say you are and are only voting once a day
