Buddy
Buddy was abandoned at a high-kill shelter in North Carolina. The one-year-old was petrified at the shelter, so we felt we had to get him out of there as soon as possible. They say he is a Peke Chi mix. Buddy is cute as a button and came from North Carolina with his gal pal Sugar. Castle of Dreams

Speckles is an about five-year-old, twelve pound terrier mix that was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. When he first arrived in New Jersey, he tested positive for heartworm and was treated. He was adopted earlier this year, but escaped twice from his elderly owner, once when a relative left the front door open and again when his owner dropped his leash. After each incident, Speckles spent about a month on the run. When he was last captured, he tested positive for Lyme's Disease and was treated with a 21-day course of antibiotics. Speckles is a timid around new people and prefers women over men, although he doesn't mind young men too much. Speckles is somewhat dog and cat friendly, however he can be very picky about which dogs and cats he likes. Speckles needs a quiet home without young, very energetic children and without other pets. He is very sweet and lovable.
Jack is a one-year-old mix between a lab and a Poodle/Yorkie. Jack's current owners have to put him up for adoption and are hoping to find him a new home. He is friendly, house broken, socialized, and loves to play in the park as well as swim. He gets along well with children.
Marnie is a Chihuahua/Terrier mix. She is a small, shy girl who reminds us of a tiny little deer. She is well behaved in the house and completely housebroken. She is timid and will need some time to adjust to her new surroundings, but once she does she will be a very loyal, very loving companion. This sweet little thing deserves a good life in a comfortable home.

Sugar made the trip from North Carolina to New Jersey with her friend Buddy. Sugar is also about a year old and also believed to be a Peke Chi mix. Sugar and Buddy can be adopted together or separately. We are just thrilled to be able to help them find their forever homes.
Sammy is an almost three-year-old smooth coat red dachshund who weighs about eleven pounds. He is very sweet and would love a home where he can cuddle and sleep in the bed with you. He loves to burrow under the covers.

Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue (CODAR) is an Aberdeen-based, non-profit canine rescue group that takes in dogs from high-kill shelters and puppy mills along the east coast and works to find them any necessary medical attention, foster care and a forever home.

This week CODAR has sent Patch six dogs looking for a permanent, loving home. If you are interested in adopting any of the animals in the slideshow, fill out the application online at www.castle-of-dreams.com.
