Two Minor Accidents Cause Police to Shut Down Parts of Rt. 79
Avoid Route 79 in Marlboro due to two downed utility poles.
Two separate accidents caused two utility poles to break into the roadway and force police to shut down areas of Route 79 in Marlboro.
Police reported an accident around 11:15 a.m. on Vanderburg and Hudson Street in the area of Route 79 when a garbage truck stuck and took down a utility pole, causing some power outages in the area.
A second accident around noon also damaged a utility pole at Route 79 and Buck Lane, when a tractor trailer struck a different pole.

My sincerest condolences go out to those injured, along with the family members and friends of those injured. Please drive carefully on our dangerous roads.
I will not hazard a guess as to what caused these accidents. However, we all know from experience, that there are many drivers on the road who need to slow down.
