Lily is a Collie mix who lost the only home she had ever known after her family fell into foreclosure.
Speckles is a Papillion/Terrier Mix who came from a hoarder situation where she had very little human contact. He’s a bit shy but warms of quickly and gets along with other dogs and cats. Now Speckles can relax, knowing that he has a safe place to lay his fluffy head each night.
Timmy is a basset and beagle mix. He was rescued from a neglected household in South Carolina. His owners did not want him any longer, even though he is still just a puppy. Timmy is now with a family who appreciate him.
Tessa is a sweet, friendly, outgoing dog. As soon as she meets you, you become her best friend. One of her favorite activities is smothering you with kisses. She is crate trained, completely housebroken and walks well on a leash. Tessa is an active dog and loves to go for walks, run and play. She also likes to snuggle up next to you and watch TV but she is definitely not a couch potato. Tessa now has a new family to share all of her energy with.
Eddie, a small Pomeranian/Corgi mix, is an adorable little guy that came from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee. He is a playful guy, loves people and other animals, and finally has a place to call his own.
Connor, a Beagle/Spaniel mix, was rescued from the aftermath of the recent tornadoes in Kentucky. The shelter he was in was ready to euthanize him to make space for more lost and injured dogs. He is very friendly and a very happy dog. Only about 1-year-old, Connor is great with kids and other dogs. He got his second chance.

Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue (CODAR) is an Aberdeen-based, non-profit canine rescue group that takes in dogs from high-kill shelters and puppy mills along the east coast and works to find them any necessary medical attention, foster care and a forever home.

Each week CODAR sends Patch dogs looking for a permanent, loving home and we feature them in a photo slideshow. Did you ever wonder what happened to those pooches?

“What a glorious day at the Castle today! Lily, one of our silent victims of the housing crisis, was adopted!" Castle of Dreams wrote on their Facebook page in March. Lily, who was abused as a puppy, previously found a loving home but was returned to Castle of Dreams after her new family fell into foreclosure. Now, CODAR hopes, she has found a forever home.

Other dogs who were featured on Patch and later adopted are: Speckles, Timmy, Tessa, Eddie, Connor, Stevie, Midget and Napoleon, Winston, Eugene, and Jacob. Just click through out photo gallery to check them out.

Unfortunately, there are still many dogs looking for safe, loving homes. Click through CODAR's website to see if any of them are a match for your home: www.castle-of-dreams.com.

My Scruffy that I adopted through Castle of Dreams seems pretty happy here! He's settling in and seems to be opening up more... his tail wags more.... he gives more kisses...... he's still a little reserved but I've only had him since January and I think when he realizes he's "finally" home he'll come around..... Suz, Scruffy and Mr. Peanut!
