Strong Winds Forecast for Matawan-Aberdeen Area Wednesday Night

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the area.

 

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for the Matawan and Aberdeen area tonight into tomorrow morning. 

Winds between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 are expected Wednesday evening. NWS predicts that the gusts may bring down trees, impacting power lines. The warning is in effect from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. Thursday.

There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday before 10 p.m. and showers throughout the evening with a low aroudn 48 degrees. Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with the temperature dropping to about 39 degrees by 5 p.m. Overnight, there will be a low of about 29 degrees. 

According to the alert, the fog warning issued earlier today has been canceled.

They weren't kidding. OMG! Sounds like a hurricane. Things blowing around the yard, falling out of the trees. It's after 4 am and still going strong. Power out for hours, just came back on here in Cliffwood Beach. I think 50 MPH is an underestimate of some of these gusts. Maybe 80 MPH a couple of times?
