We can't confirm that it's the shortest ever parade, however marchers need not wear comfortable shoes to make the one block trek from the intersection of Jackson and Spring Street to the intersection of Jackson and Church Street. According to Google Maps, the parade route is 0.2 of a mile.
The parade is always held the Friday prior to St. Patrick's Day, making this year's festivities March 15, 2013. The parade line-up will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the parade begins promptly at 6 p.m.
Washington Engine Company requires marchers to fill out a parade registration form, which is attached to this article below the photo of last year's parade.
Registration forms must be received by Washington Engine Company (176 Jackson Street, Matawan) by March 8.
